1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using DNSX ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
DNSX provides free online network diagnostic tools including DNS lookup, IP geolocation, SSL certificate checking, WHOIS lookup, and email diagnostic tools. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
3. Prohibited Uses and Content
3.1 General Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations
- Perform unauthorized security scanning, penetration testing, or vulnerability assessments on systems, networks, or domains you do not own or have explicit written permission to test
- Harass, abuse, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person or entity
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
- Engage in fraudulent activities or deceptive practices
- Launch denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, or otherwise attempt to overwhelm or disrupt the Service or any connected systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except as expressly permitted by the applicable open-source license governing specific components
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape, collect, or harvest data from the Service in bulk without prior written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data contained therein
3.2 Prohibited Content for Secret Sharing
The DNSX secret sharing feature allows you to share encrypted content securely. You may not use this feature to store, share, or transmit:
- Illegal content of any kind under applicable law
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or endangers minors
- Malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious code or software
- Stolen credentials, passwords, authentication tokens, or session data
- Stolen personal data, including but not limited to social security numbers, financial account information, health records, or other sensitive personal information obtained without authorization
- Stolen financial information, including credit card numbers, bank account details, or cryptocurrency wallet keys obtained through theft or fraud
- Copyrighted material for which you do not have authorization or a valid license to distribute
- Content that facilitates, promotes, or enables illegal transactions, including but not limited to drug trafficking, weapons sales, human trafficking, or money laundering
- Content containing harassment, threats, hate speech, or incitement to violence against any individual or group
- Any content that violates the rights of others, including privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or contractual rights
3.3 Enforcement
We take violations of these terms seriously and reserve the right to take appropriate action, including but not limited to:
- Removing or disabling access to any content that violates these Terms
- Suspending or terminating your access to the Service without prior notice
- Reporting illegal content or activities to appropriate law enforcement authorities
- Cooperating with law enforcement investigations and responding to valid legal requests, subpoenas, and court orders
- Preserving information as required by law or as necessary to protect our rights and the safety of others
3.4 Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any content or activity that violates these Terms, please report it immediately by contacting us at [email protected]. Please include as much detail as possible, including relevant URLs, descriptions of the violating content or behavior, and any supporting evidence. We will review all reports and take appropriate action as warranted.
4. Acceptable Use
In addition to avoiding prohibited uses, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Respect the privacy and rights of other users
- Provide accurate information when required
- Maintain the security of any credentials or access tokens associated with your use of the Service
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use or security breach you become aware of
5. API Usage
The DNSX API is provided for programmatic access to our tools. Reasonable rate limits apply to ensure fair usage for all users. Excessive API usage may result in temporary or permanent access restrictions.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by DNSX and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The DNSX source code is available under an open-source license on GitHub.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
8. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL DNSX BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
